Jewish Family Services (JFS) of MetroWest New Jersey has been helping people since 1861. Of course, their website is a much more recent resource. That said, by 2016, it had become a vast repository of information reflecting the organization’s myriad social service and mental health offerings and diverse community of clients, volunteers, staff, and partners.
Working closely with JFS stakeholders, we redesigned the site to give it a clean, contemporary look, while simultaneously enhancing users’ access to timely and important information. Navigation was made more prominent and usable via big, clearly-labeled buttons that organized content into easy-to-understand categories. We placed upcoming events in their own designated “above-the-fold” area on the homepage. We featured a single, meaningful photograph to capture JFS’s mission. We highlighted donation links in a different, yet brand-consistent, color. Finally, we enhanced the site’s responsiveness, so it looked and worked well across platforms and devices.
It was an honor to support JFS’s essential work by updating their website to more easily serve their community.
