Social Media Graphics for a Nonprofit’s Fundraiser

Give STL Day is the St. Louis Community Foundation’s annual effort to support over one thousand local nonprofits with a donation drive on a single day in May. To take advantage of this fantastic fundraising opportunity, I created a set of eye-catching graphics for the St. Louis Art Place Initiative (API)‘s Instagram account, email blasts, and related websites.

Titling their campaign “Let’s Double It,” API sought to use social media to announce the upcoming Give STL Day and their aim to raise double the amount of last year’s event, all towards building wealth for artists through home ownership. Additionally, API wanted to encourage donors to give during designated matching gift “Power Hours,” doubling each donation in that time interval.

Using API’s brand color palette, I designed a striped pattern with a “glowing” title that could be adapted to several size specs and uses. First up, a special banner for API’s website and a post for their Instagram account, added to their grid a week before Give STL Day.

When the big day arrived, the time-sensitive nature of Instagram stories was well-suited for highlighting API’s Power Hours. Drawing again from their brand color palette, I created several different-colored sets of story graphics for each Power Hour, each describing an API initiative that the donations would support. When the designated hours arrived, we incorporated the provided  countdown sticker into the story graphic, providing a dynamic, second-by-second reveal of the remaining minutes in the donor match.

Although the timeline was tight, I was proud to collaborate with API to create fresh, dynamic and engaging digital graphics in support of their short-term goals and wider mission.
